What is a window pane?

A window pane is any piece of glass that has a border around it; whether its a rectangle, triangle, small or big. Keep in mind that some windows have a grid that is either in-between the glass or outside the glass. When the grid is on the outside it breaks up the glass into smaller panes; we call this french panes.
